Automatic Pin Welding Machine

This machine was developed specifically for welding the locating pins of water-stop tie rods. It welds both pins in a single cycle and needs only one operator. A dedicated unit welds a pair of pins in 0.2 seconds — more than 800 rods per hour — and changing size takes only a simple adjustment.

Maximum welding diameter is 20 mm. Microcomputer control gives speed, simplicity, reliable quality and low cost.

1. Speed: 0.2 s for rod diameters of 8–18 mm.

3. Operation: so simple that an operator with no welding experience can run it.

Why automate. Automatic welding keeps the welding conditions constant, so every joint is uniform and the pass rate is above 99% — stronger and more durable than manual welding. Automatic wire feed and cutting remove the cost of buying finished pins: wire rod goes straight in, resistance welding replaces electrodes and filler wire, and daily output exceeds 8,000 pieces. The control system uses an industrial ARM platform with strong noise immunity and a service life of ten years or more; welding current is adjustable for different materials.
